Feedback from our trainees
Dr K. Samra - ST1 Trainee in 2014/15, and ST3 trainee in 2017/18:
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a GP trainee at Glencairn Medical Practice. The practice itself, is located at three different sites with different demographic of patients which is very valuable in terms of exposure to different types of pathology and social background of patients. I think this makes you better equipped for future when dealing with patients from different social and cultural backgrounds as a fully trained GP. The partners in the practice are all very approachable and helpful - I have always felt very supported and satisfied with the advice I had been given. The reception staff, practice manager and nursing team are also very helpful and friendly and make the experience of being a trainee more enjoyable. My supervisor, Dr McHardy, in particular was very supportive and provided regular feedback on my performance as well as helping me achieve my learning objectives. There is also time allocated for weekly teaching sessions which are always well planned in advance and helpful for my level of training. I would highly recommend this practice to future trainees who are considering working in NHS Ayrshire and Arran”.
